Dimapur | December 22
A fire razed a block of bamboo residential structures in Y Zhimo colony on December 21. As per eyewitness accounts, around 14-15 households were affected by the fire, which was aggravated by exploding LPG cylinders. It started around 4:00 pm.
While the Fire & Emergency Services responded immediately, a congested flyover and Nyamo Lotha Road did not serve to aid the preparedness. Fire personnel were however able to control the fire from spreading once they reached the site. It took about an hour to douse the flames. There was no report of any casualty.
