KOHIMA, AUGUST 26 (MExN): A landslide on National Highway-2 at Chainage KM 12.900, near Tsiesema Basa, has led to the complete blockage of the highway, prompting the Kohima district administration to issue a traffic advisory on Monday.
In an order issued by Kohima Deputy Commissioner, the public was informed of alternative traffic arrangements to ensure safety and facilitate restoration works.
“The road from High Court Junction, Meriema – Nagaland University Campus – Tsiesema Basa, near 5 Sector Assam Rifles/ Koinonia Prayer Centre Junction is notified as the alternative route for the LMVs,” the order stated.
It further cautioned that the narrow passage of the alternative route made it unsuitable for heavy vehicles. “Traffic for Heavy Vehicles, including Manipur and Dimapur bound vehicles, shall be regulated by the traffic police after ascertaining the condition of the road,” it said.
