Dimapur, June 3 (MExN): Heavy vehicles bound for Manipur have been barred from travelling beyond Chathe Bridge (Patkai Junction) following the closure of a damaged section of National Highway-2 near Phesama.
The restriction, effective until further notice, applies to vehicles with more than six wheels, stated an advisory issued by the Dimapur Commissioner of Police in line with an earlier advisory from the Kohima Deputy Commissioner.
Officials said the measure is necessary to prevent congestion and ensure public safety along the Kohima-Mao stretch. Transporters and the public have been asked to cooperate.
