Wokha, July 26 (MExN): A herd of elephants reportedly entered Old Aree village under Wokha district on the night of July 26, destroying agricultural fields and temporary huts.
While the exact number of elephants could not be confirmed, villagers stated that the damage was significant.
They expressed concern over the destruction of their crops, noting that farming is their primary source of livelihood, and the incident has left them in a difficult situation.
Residents also voiced fears for their personal safety, citing the increasing presence of elephants in and around the village in recent times.
The matter has been reported to the local administration, and the villagers have urged the authorities to take timely and appropriate action.
They noted that this was not the first such incident and appealed for long-term measures to prevent further damage.
