DIMAPUR, MAY 19 (MExN): Nagaland registered 365 cases of COVID-19 on May 18 while 12 new deaths were also reported taking the State’s COVID-19 fatality count to 217.
231 out of the 365 new cases were from self test or random test while 114 were traced contacts, 10 were returnees, 5 armed personnel/security forces and 5 frontline workers. The Health Department’s bulletin informed that the new cases include 195 from Dimapur, 108 from Kohima, 13 from Zunheboto, 12 from Phek, 11 from Longleng, 10 from Mokokchung, 8 from Peren, 4 from Mon, 2 from Kiphire and one each from Wokha and Tuensang. Meanwhile, 192 new recoveries were also reported on the day. They include 99 from Dimapur, 78 from Kohima, 7 from Mon, 4 from Peren, 3 from Longleng and 1 from Kiphire. The total caseload of the State is now 18,714. A total of 13,491 patients have recovered from the infection and there are now 4,407 active cases.
