Staff Reporter DIMAPUR, SEP 3 (NPN): All it took was about an hour of heavy downpour for rainwater to submerge several parts of Dimapur on Thursday afternoon.
The clogging of drains or their non-existence, has made Dimapur prone to inundation by flood on rainy days.
The heavy downpour on Thursday lasted for around one hour and left the busy G.S. Road stretch from New Market junction and close to Old Daily Market inundated.
Several other low lying areas of Dimapur continue to face the same problem during monsoon rains.
G.S. Road is not only prone to inundation due to absence of roadside proper drains, but the road has not seen any blacktopping for several years. GS Road is still not blacktopped with many potholes dotting it.
