Kohima, January 14 (MExN): A trial landing of a Pawan Hans Dauphin twin-engine helicopter was successfully conducted at the helipads of five districts in Nagaland on January 13.
The trial marks a significant step toward the launch of helicopter services under the first phase of the RCS-UDAN scheme of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.
The trial landings took place at Kohima, Zunheboto, Tuensang, Mokokchung and Phek, stated a DIPR report.
Under this phase, the five districts will be connected to Dimapur, aiming to improve regional air connectivity and enhance accessibility across Nagaland, it stated.
In Kohima, Commissioner and Secretary Robert Longchari, along with officials from the state Transport Department, interacted with the Pawan Hans team at the civil helipad.
