Kohima, January 28 (MExN): The Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Kohima, has notified a set of new traffic regulations in parts of Kohima town with immediate effect, based on the minutes of a recent RTA meeting.
According to the notification, the stretch from D-Block to Congress Bhavan will continue to function as a one-way route, with entry permitted only from D-Block towards Congress Bhavan.
The road section from DC Office Junction to South Gate (Khuochiezie Local Ground) has been converted into a two-way road. However, vehicles approaching from D-Block or descending from the DC Office Junction have been directed to exit through the Khuochiezie Local Ground bypass road.
Meanwhile, traffic movement from Y-Junction (Phoolbari) to South Gate (Khuochiezie Local Ground) will remain restricted to one-way only.
In addition, vehicle parking along the South Gate to DC Office Junction stretch will be restricted and regulated, subject to the availability of designated parking spaces, stated the notification issued by Deputy Commissioner and RTA Kohima Chairman B Henok Buchem.
