Prohibitory Order in the entire area of Mokokchung District

 

Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS has promulgated prohibitory order under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.PC) in the entire area of Mokokchung District in view of the apprehension of possible breach of peace and disturbance of public tranquillity thereby vitiating the smooth conduct of  election in the district. The order shall come into force from 4: 00PM on 25th February and shall be in force till 28th February 2018.

 

Under the order assembly of 5 or more persons and carrying of fire arms, stones, lathis, explosive materials or any such items are prohibited and the violators will be liable for punishment under Section 188 of the IPC.

 

However, the prohibatory order shall not be applied to government officials involved in the conduct of elections, law and order and essential services.  (DPRO MKG)

 

2.       Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung informs on parking restriction.

 

Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung,  Sachin Jaiswal  IAS has informed to all concerned that in view of the upcoming 13th General Assembly Election to the state of Nagaland, there will be no parking zone in the following locations under Mokokchung Town from 26th to 27th Feb. 2018. (1) From Imlong place to Imkongmeren Sports Complex (IM Road) (2) From Imlong Place to BOC (AM Road).

3.       Security measures put in place for polling on 27 Feb. in Mokokchung district

 

All preparations have been set to conduct free and fair polling on 27th February 2018 to their representatives to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Mokokchung district. Polling will be conducted in 226 polling stations for which adequate security measures have been made to enable the electors to exercise their franchise without fear.

 

Superintendent of Police Mokokchung, Raguramarajan. A (IPS) said that a total of 31 companies of Central Armed Police Forces and 10 companies of Nagaland police including IRB have been requisitioned for poll duty in the district out of which 28 companies will be deployed on poll duty. He said 12 companies will be on duty as striking forces to deal with any eventuality especially in those sensitive areas in the district. S.P said a company of CAPF has been earmarked for strong room duty. (DPRO MKG)
