The Naga Scholars’ Association taking cognizance of the call of the Government of Nagaland state for a Consultative Meeting on Indo-Naga political talk and settlement by inviting various sections of Naga society scheduled for 15 October 2020 at Kohima would like to put forward our position known to the Naga political negotiators and the Naga people at large in consonance with our earlier statements — Communiqué (dated 25 October 2016) and Solution with Honour (dated 23 October 2019) and the present political situation.

1. The Naga political issue is a geo-political and national issue for self-determination. Therefore, whichever political organization negotiates and decides for settlement should keep abreast the long cherished goal of the Naga nation, which the Nagas have struggled for.

2. The Agreement should incorporate the core elements of Naga political national identity, particularly, Naga Flag, Naga Constitution, and Territorial Integration with national character.

3. The Agreement should accord Nagalim with Legislative, Executive, Judicial and Financial powers outside the purview of the Constitution of India.

4. The Naga political groups should make utmost effort to unite in the Naga national principle/goal for self-determination.

5. The Naga Legislators must seriously work to facilitate the process of uniting the Naga National Political groups to pave way for realising the desired aspiration.

6. It is the bounden responsibility of the Naga people at large to contribute to the strengthening of the negotiation to achieve the Naga aspiration.

7. The Naga people must take collective responsibility today to decide the fate of the Nagas.
