Rev Dr Mar Pongener takes charge as Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger bids farewell

Mokokchung, April 3 (MExN): The farewell and installation of Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) Executive Secretary was held at Impur on April 1. It was attended by two members each from all Ao Baptist churches.

Rev Dr Mar Pongener took charge as the seventh Executive Secretary of ABAM and in his acceptance speech expressed immense joy for the opportunity given to him and said that “he looks unto God for help as he renders his service in ABAM” and asked everyone to uphold in prayers.

Rev Dr Mar Pongener from Longjang village was ordained in 2011 and achieved Professorship from CTC in 2019. He served as Principal at CTC Aolijen, informed a press release from ABAM President, Dr Lolen Imchen.

Meanwhile, the outgoing Executive Secretary, Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger in his speech thanked his wife and children, ABAM Secretaries and staff, Mokokchung Baptist Church, relatives, and Pastors for their significant support during his ten years of service in ABAM.

The outgoing Executive Secretary and his family will be going to Batam city in Riau Island, Indonesia where he will be teaching in a university, and his wife Amenla will work as a mentor at the same time. Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger was recently appointed as Vice-Master of Serampore College.

The handing and taking over of the Executive Secretary was ministered by Dr Lolen Imchen, President, ABAM.
