Adhoc Teachers’ indefinite hunger strike continues

Amidst the ongoing indefinite hunger strike called by the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG) -2015 Batch entering 3rd day the Civil Secretariat, Kohima, another member was taken ill on Saturday.

Former spokesperson, Bendang Ozukum informed The Morung Express that the indefinite hunger strike since Friday, had not called off despite October 2 being a Sunday. 

He further informed that a male teacher, who had been taken ill yesterday, was admitted to hospital and later discharged in the morning. 

Other members who were on hunger strike had earlier been reportedly hospitalised and another was taken home. 
Earlier, a meeting was called for October 2, but members did attend the meeting as it was a Sunday.

‘Others members who are not participating in the hunger strike had come and joined us to show their support and solidarity to us,” he said. 

He said around 30 members are joining the agitation and hunger strike. 

It must be noted there that since September 26, the ANATG had been on a silent sit-in protest and the hunger strike started on September 30.

Comprising of 1166 teachers, the ANATG 2015 Batch has been demanding service regularisation.
