Central team inspects development works in Wka

DIMAPUR, Nov 1: Central team led by joint secretary (C&NER) Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, Pankaj Kumar Singh and Director (MC&NER) MoHUA, G.Ravinder visited Wokha district on October 31 to take first hand information and oversee the infrastructure development works under taken by departments of Housing and Municipal Affairs.

According to DIPR report, the visiting officials were accompanied by chief engineer, Urban Engineering Wing, Er. Yanbemo Humtsoe, joint secretary, Municipal Affairs to the Government of Nagaland, T. Nchumbemo Odyuo and other officials.

The officials after reaching Wokha visited several sites of developmental projects and schemes and took stock of the ground reality of the on-going infrastructural works under taken by the ministry.

Later the officials held a short interaction with the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Orenthung Lotha along with ULBs officials at the DC residence.

Orenthung on behalf of the people of the district thanked both the officials from the Central Government and State Government for visiting Wokha district and for the concern showed towards the district.

He expressed hope that the work, projects and schemes undertaken by the department will benefit the people of the district immensely. He also assured to extend outmost support and cooperation for the successful implementations of works taken up by the concerned department.

The officials from the district also apprised the central team about some of the important requirements to be implemented in the district for the benefit of the community people.

Later the team visited Yikhum village with the village authorities and also visited Doyang Hydro Electric Project, Wokha on the same day.
