According to a press release on Sunday, the programme was organised by the Chizami Students’ Union (CSU), Village Education Committee (VEC) and SMC in collaboration with Secheku Graduate Fellowship (SGF). The objective is to connect diverse teachers on one platform, to orient, equip and enhance the teachers for better knowledge and more effective classroom teaching and guidance in the field of education, it stated.

Theoretical sessions, group exercise and discussions were conducted on skills of classroom management and evaluation, innovative teaching and joyful learning, and mental health and counseling.

The resource persons from SGF include Cole Lasuh, Mhetshe-u Khalo, Dingupe Kapfo, Wetshokhrolo Lasuh and Dr Yelhi Vero.

The programme was chaired by the CSU President Khrolhiweu Tsuhah and greetings shared by VEC Chairman Khrowelo Thopi. It commenced with blessings from Kewekhalo Thopi, Senior Pastor of Chizami Baptist Church, while closing remarks were given by the Vice President Rukewete Edemi and benediction by Rebecca Naro, GT GM Government High School.

As per the release, the Chizami Village Development Board (VDB) & VEC financially supported the programme.

Meanwhile, stating that it strongly advocates the adage: ‘It takes a Community to Raise a Child,’ the organizers stated that everyone must partner and work collectively. “We encourage the students’ bodies in various villages and towns to collaborate with local institutions and organise such events as the teachers play a significant role in nurturing, shaping and inspiring the students and young people of our communities,” it added.
