CM extends ‘Virtual Hornbill Fest’ greetings

DIMAPUR, NOV 30 (NPN): State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio has wished all the citizens of Nagaland and well-wishers and friends all around the world a happy “Virtual Hornbill Festival.”


On the eve of the ‘Virtual Hornbill Festival 2020’, the chief minister Rio said that Hornbill Festival, flagship tourism event of Nagaland, has emerged as an internationally acclaimed global festival.


He stated that the festival was today one of Nagaland’s internationally acknowledged intellectual properties that has successfully propelled Nagaland’s emerging soft power into the global stage, where every Naga was a proud stakeholder.


Rio said that the ten-day event was unique, and like no other festival anywhere else. “The festival is a celebration of the Naga tribal way of life, an extravaganza of our rich cultural heritage that showcases the energy and vibrancy of Naga youth,” The chief minister said.


He said that the pandemic has created new normal, and accordingly Nagaland was rewriting the tourism script by aligning the industry to the changed dynamics. Once the world reopens, he said Nagaland would be prepared with a tourism narrative that was in tune with a post Covid scenario.
