DIMAPUR , Sept 2: District Health Society (DHS) Mon held a review meeting with medical officers of all the blocks on August 31 at chief medical officer (CMO) office.

In a press release, district media officer, NHM, Mon Leeyan Chemsy informed that while chairing the meeting, deputy CMO Dr. Rongsennungla requested the house to have an interactive session on the present scenario of their health units and to discuss and strategise ways for improvement.

The agendas discussed at the meeting were low rate of COVID-19 testing, vaccination, absenteeism, negligence of other essential services, and reporting.

Delivering welcome address, DSO Dr. Lolekhol Pucho laid down the issue of low COVID-19 testing rate in the district.

While discussing the low rate performance, according to the challenges faced at the grassroot level, the house decided to activate IEC personnel to enforce steps in tackling the stigma and fear.

The house also decided that the DHS Mon would request district administration to assist in initiating thorough sensitisation programme in all the blocks.

DPO (RCH&UIP) Shasinle Tep asserted that the second dose of covid jabs needed to be emphasised as the number ran low compared to the first dose.

She also gave the authority to plan the vaccination session to all the blocks according to their convenience. The house also discussed on absenteeism of nurses posted at the health units.

For those with absolute reasons and the reasons that fall under certain difficulties/challenges should be met or at least the department should try to minimise the problems so as to have no excuses, the house discussed. The meeting concluded with discussion on reporting formats and other essential services such as routine immunisation (RI).
