Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): In a major success, Dimapur police today claimed to have arrest a cadre and recovered arms.
In an official update, Dy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur stated that on December 1, “basing on information from reliable sources regarding arms smuggling activity at Bazaar area, Burma Camp Dimapur,” Dimapur Police arrested one person identified as Vihoto Rochill @James (38) SS Tatar of NSCNK2 (Isaak) after a hot chase.
Police have recovered three Point 32 pistols (Country Made) and two point 32 Live rounds from his possession. In this connection, a case has been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur and further investigation is on, the PRO stated.
On November 30, Dimapur Police raided a hotel at Murgipatti and recovered three cases of Kingfisher Cane, one case of Kingfisher bottle and three cases of MC Whiskey. In this connection one person namely Ramanand Kumar Mahato (42) was apprehended and accordingly a case has been registered at East Police Station.
In a different case, Dimapur Police apprehended two persons namely Zhehoto Sumi and Kughato Sumi while extorting money in the name of NSCN (U) from Tata Mobile. Two Mobile Phones and Cash of Rs500 and Rs100 respectively were recovered from their possession. In this connection a case has been registered at East PS, the PRO stated.
Further, Dimapur Police conducted a raid at Burma Camp and recovered one case of Kingfisher Cane, one case of IB Whiskey, 19 nos of MC Whiskey, 28 nos of MC Rum, one case of Vodka from the possession of Kevinguzo Thernuo (24). In this connection, a case has been registered, the police informed.
In all the three cases, investigation is going on, the police added.
