DTFs discuss unlock 1 process; vax drives continue

DIMAPUR , July 2: Medical staff from Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO’s) office, Dimapur, under the supervision of Anungla Cho-O, and under the initiative of Supply Colony Council (SCC) organised a mass vaccination drive, here, at Children’s Park, Supply Colony, on Thursday.

SCC chairman Vikheto Chisho said that Nagas should do away with the misconceptions and rumours about vaccination and get vaccinated at the earliest in order to protect themselves.

He encouraged colony and village councils on mass vaccination at their jurisdiction so that many would be able to avail the opportunity to get vaccinated in their own colonies.

Meanwhile, GB AB Jamir acknowledged the CMO and staff for accepting the proposal of mass vaccination in their colony jurisdiction.

He added that a vast majority populace of the colony were vaccinated.

It was informed that around 240 people were vaccinated which included both first and second doses.

Sensitisation drive at Peren: Medical department along with the district administration carried out sensitisation and vaccination drive on COVID vaccine under Peren district on June 29 and 30.

A press release from the CMO’s office informed that the team covered Jalukiekam village, Jalukie Zangdi village, Samzuiram village, New Chalkot village and also the auto drivers union Jalukie.

The team was led by ADC Jalukie Dr. Tinujongshi Chang along with EAC Ngwalwa Rumbemo T. Kithan, deputy CMO, Dr. Lanuakum, DPO UIP/RCH Dr. Kiholi Chishi, ZLO Dr. Viholi, DSO Dr. Hedungkiebe, DPM Elizabeth Jamir, IEC personnel and vaccinators.

The team sensitised the village leaders and villagers on COVID vaccine and carried out on-spot vaccination drive.

It may be mentioned that New Chalkot village has achieved fully vaccination that is 100% vaccinated.

Tuensang DTF deliberates on unlock 1: Tuensang DTF for COVID-19 held a meeting on July 1 at DC’s conference hall which was chaired by DC and chairman DTF Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant.

According to DIPR report, the house reviewed the latest guidelines of unlock 1 for the district.

The members also reviewed updates on relief aid for shopkeepers whose shops were affected by the lockdown.

The house informed that shopkeepers and taxi drivers who have been vaccinated would be issued a sticker “I am vaccinated” by responsible department.

For shop keepers, ADC & administrator TTC, Ajit Kumar Verma and COC-I have been assigned to formulate the modalities while saloons and beauty parlours would be opened on alternate days but should ensure negative test.

Nodal officer for COVID-19 Tuensang, Dr. John presented the statistical report on testing and positivity rate of the district for COVID while Dr. Sunep reported the statistics of the COVID hospital Tuensang in detail.

SP Tuensang, Amit Nigam gave a report on the successful vaccination of the DEF personnel.

Kiphire DTF holds meeting: District task force, Kiphire on COVID-19 held a meeting on relaxation of lockdown regulations on unlock 1 at DPBD, Conference hall on July 1 under the chairmanship of DC & chairman, DTF, Kiphire, Rahul Mali.

The house reviewed relaxations of lockdown regulations on unlock 1 and the members after deliberation decided to implement the state government lockdown relaxation guidelines in the district.

The members also reviewed the ongoing vaccination activities with various strategies to be implemented at the village level, to increase COVID-19 activities in the district.

Earlier, DTF members observed two-minute silent in remembrance of Toshi Wungtung and the six people who died due to COVID-19 in the district.

The members also conveyed condolences message to the bereaved family members.

YMCA Nagaland relief outreach: YMCA, Dimapur Nagaland reached out to people in need to Zukiye village.

The initiation was carried out under the project, “heal the world” of Y’s men and YMCA India.

YMCA president Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema along with a number of office bearers visited 30 widows and 20 BPL homes and distributed essential commodities to the destitute such as rice, lentils, oil, vegetables, hygiene essentials like soap etc.

In addition to this, the team also served home-made food to a total of 150 plus homeless people at railway station and provided them with safe drinking water.
