KOHIMA, DECEMBER 7 (MExN): Lt Gen RP Kalita, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Command arrived on a four day visit to the North-Eastern states.
During the visit, GOC-in-C reached Manipur on December 6 and interacted with the Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister N Biren Singh. GOC-in-C was accompanied by GOC, Spear Corps, a press release issued by PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh informed.
During the meeting, Kalita discussed the current security scenario in the state of Manipur and further various aspects related to strengthening cooperation and ensuring security for the people of Manipur were discussed, the press release stated.
