Jan Arogya Samiti training underway in Mon

Mon, July 4 (MExN): The District Health Society, Mon launched a Jan Arogya Samiti (JAS) training for all the chairman, member secretary and a member of Health & Wellness Centers of all the blocks in the district.

The training will be held blockwise starting from July 3 to 7, led by the resource persons Dr Vizokholu Theyo, CMO; Dr Thomas Keppen Dy CMO; Moie Bonnie Konyak, District Programme Manager, NHM; Hasinlo Rengma, District Accounts Manager, NHM.

The launching programme was held at District Hospital (DH) conference hall for Mon, Chen, Wakching and Phomching block on July 3. 

Dr Vizokholu Theyo explained the background, objectives and the need for JAS. While explaining JAS, she said that the planning, decision making and monitoring is necessary for quality health services and that one should understand the six health dimensions which is physical, mental, social, emotional, spiritual and vocational.

Dr Thomas Keppen, Dy CMO explained the composition and structure of JAS and its roles & responsibilities through a powerpoint presentation.

Under the functions of JAS, Moie Bonnie Konyak gave a detail explanation on organising health promotion activities; quality service delivery; catalysing grievance redressal; Social Accountability exercise and annual public dialogue.

Hesinlo Rengma explained the untied funds of JAS and its uses; financial management and accounting of untied funds. In the end, Dy CMO briefed on the annual calendar days and suggested formats for maintaining records which led to discussion hours and closing remarks.
