Kohima Police issues traffic rules in view of G20 Business Summit

Kohima, April 2 (MExN): In view of the G20 Business Summit to be held at Kohima from April 4 to 6, various programmes are planned at different locations in the city. 

To ensure smooth conduct of the summit and in the interest of public convenience, PRODEF, Kohima in a press release said that the following traffic plan will be put in place for the three days:

‘No Parking Zones’ locations: 
•    Aradura Retreat to TCP Gate via Mohonkhola/BOC/PHQJn/Classic Island/SKV petrol pump.
•    TCP Gate to High School Junction via Phoolbari/Old NST/ Razhu Point/Kezieke/TeenpatiHigh School Junction to VIVOR Hotel via Ruzhukhrie GHSS/DUDA Guest House. 
•    Any vehicle parked within or in the ROW (Right of Way) of a two lane road within Kohima Municipal limits shall be towed as per the provisions of Section 201 MV Act and penalized U/S 177A/201 MV Act, further the towing charges shall be recovered from the vehicle owner. ROW (Right of Way) can be identified by the white longitudinal marking on the left and right side of any major road  

Parking for car passes: Parking at Capital Cultural Hall (CCH)
•    Vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ shall be parked at the CCH
•    Vehicles with car pass ‘D’ shall be parked at the location (mela ground) opposite CCH
•    Vehicles with car pass ‘Y’ shall be parked at the Multi Level Car Parking at Old Medical Directorate

Parking at Banquet Hall
•    Vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ shall be parked at the CMs official complex
•    Vehicles with car pass ‘D’ shall be parked outside the CMs official complex
•    Vehicles with car pass ‘Y’ shall be parked opposite the Multi Purpose Hall below Legislators Home
 
Parking at Kisama Heritage Village
•    Vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ and ‘D’ shall be parked at the main parking lot in the Heritage Village and along the Main arena
•    Vehicles with car pass ‘Y’ shall be parked at the Kisama Amphitheatre
•    Others and vehicles without car pass shall be parked at the parking lot opposite 2nd Gate 

Parking facilities will be available at Multi Level Car Parking Lot at Old NST & Old Medical Directorate free of cost from April 3 to 6. Vehicle owners are advised to use the facilities to avoid any inconvenience and congestion.  Parking lot near Hotel Crescent International will be reserved for delegates of the B-20 Summit. ‘NO ENTRY’ for heavy vehicles within Kohima Town shall be enforced from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm for the three days. These restrictions shall be enforced at interstate Khuzama check gate and Duzdza Bridge.

Kohima Police has appealed for co-operation from all citizens to ensure smooth conduct of the G20 Business Summit.
