Late Toshi Wungtung laid to rest at Sangphur village

DIMAPUR, JUL 5 (NPN) : Following the State funeral service here on Saturday, IPR, SCERT and village guards adviser Toshi Wungtung was finally laid to rest at Sangphur village in Tuensang district on Sunday.

Prior to that, a public funeral service was held at Shamator under the aegis of Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) where hundreds of mourners lined up to pay their final homage to the departed leader. Speakers on the occasion heaped praises on Wungtung for his commitment and dedication towards his people and the State as a whole.

Adviser L Khumo, NDPP legislator H Chuba Chang, former NPF legislator R Tohanba, Tuensang deputy commissioner Kumar Ramnikant, YTC, ENPO and ENSF representatives and family members spoke at the funeral.

While Tuensang district police personnel accorded guard of honour at Shamator, Sangphur village guards did the same before the burial at Sangphur village.
