DIMAPUR, Aug 1 (MExN): Along with the rest of the Country, Nagaland celebrated the grand finale of the ‘Bijili Mahotsav-Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya’ in Dimapur and Chumoukedima districts on July 30. The two districts were selected for the grand finale event and is celebrating along with the 102 districts/locations of the country.
H Tovihoto Ayemi, Advisor, Power was the chief attendee in Dimapur and Abhinav Shivam, IAS, DC Chümoukedima was the chief attendee in Chümoukedima. Officials from district administration, DoPN, NEEPCO Ltd and beneficiaries from Sovima, Chümoukedima, Signal Angami and ToluvI villages were present.
As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ – to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence, the Ministry of Power and New & Renewable Energy areorganizing ‘Bijli Mahotsav’ across all districts of India under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power @ 2047 through active public participation and driven by the collaboration of the state and the Central Governments.
Key achievements done in Power Sector in the last years are being highlighted through these events. In Nagaland, DDUGJY and SAUBHAGYA schemes was successfully implemented across all 1280 recognized villages including 75 unrecognized villages and 111 Hamlets and IPDS scheme was successfully implemented covering 12 urban towns across the state.
Bijli Mahotsav kickstarted on July 25 across various districts in the country including 16 districts in Nagaland.Over the last few days more than 1500+ events/ activities were organized at district level in coordination with District administration and was attended by Union Ministers, MPs, State Ministers, and MLAs among other dignitaries in large numbers.
The grand finale of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya was organized on July 30. This was a national level celebration attended by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, who addressed the participants and beneficiaries from over 100 districts across the country through virtual mode.
