Nagaland govt strengthen health care facilities in Tseminyu dis

The state government today strengthened the health care facilities in Tseminyu district by extending two Primary Health Centres at Ehunnu and Kandinu village.

It was formally inaugurated by Nagaland Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Women Resources Development, Advisor R Khing in the presence of officials from the Directorate of Heath & Family Welfare, Nagaland, district administration and public leaders.

Addressing the inaugural function at Kandinu, Khing maintained that providing better health care facilities to the people of the state has been the top most priority of the UDA government. He was optimistic the two newly created PHCs, which have been upgraded from Sub Centres would benefit the people of the respective areas. On requirement of manpower, he said, the government will move for job creation in due course of time to man the health care centres.

He said the 13th House of Nagaland Legislative Assembly has been paying special attention towards the public health in the form of providing affordable and quality health care system to the citizens.
 
‘Get register with CMHIS’

Touching on Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme, Khing called upon the people to get register with this health insurance package at the earliest.

He also called upon the people to avail Chief Minister’s Micro- Finance initiative scheme, which has been designed to boost self-employment avenues for educated unemployed youth.

Stating that the state government has been extending numerous schemes and facilities, he called upon the people to take advantage of the same for a better livelihood.

He announced that the government is on the job to upgrade Government High School Kandinu to higher secondary level.

There is also a proposal for setting up of Police Outpost at K Station, he said.

Stating that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has been giving special attention towards Tseminyu district, Khing called upon the people to reciprocate the CM’s goodwill gesture and desist from spreading propaganda. Misleading nature has potential to obstruct the developmental activities, he said.

Further, Khing appealed the people to stay united and work together for common good of the Rengma community.
 
‘Use health care resources wisely’

Also speaking on the occasion, Dr Theyiephrezo Khimiao, Director (Dental), Health & Family Welfare called upon the people to wisely use the provided health care resources.

Responding to the plea of the community for posting of the require manpower in those PHCs, he assured to discuss the same with the higher authority.

He also called for placing proper land patta for expansion of the health centre in future.

Tseminyu Deputy Commissioner, Zasekuolie Chusi thanked the government of the day, and more particularly to R Khing for his initiative towards the establishment of PHCs at Ehunnu and Kandinu, which he, said had fulfilled the long felt desire of the citizens.

He requested the medical department to assess the situation on the importance of medical facilities to Tseminyu district.

Johnny G Rengma, Director, NSTFDC, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India also spoke at the function and requested the department to place the requisite nurses in those PHCs at the earliest.

Earlier, the inauguration of PHC at Ehunnu was led by Dr Cheyale Kath, MO PHC Chunlikha while Kekhimo Kath, Pastor, Ehunnu Baptist Church invoked God’s blessing. Dr Felicita Magh, Ayush, PHC Kandinu led the inauguration at Kandinu and Paul Kath, Pastor, Kandinu Baptist Church pronounced dedicatory prayer.

Dr John Kent, Senior Medical Officer, Tseminyu chaired the main function while welcome note was delivered by Hethinon Mesen, general secretary Kandi Public Union. 

Kandinu Youth Organization, Sishunu Kepvünyi Zi and Anensa Kath performed folk dance, folk song and special song respectively. Vote of thanks was proposed by Khunenchi Apon, chairman, Village Health Committee and benediction by Mehaimo Kath, Asst. Pastor, Sishunu Baptist Church.
