Nagaland University launches ‘vigilance awareness week’

DIMAPUR, October 27: Nagaland University (NU) Lumami launched organised an inaugural programme of the “vigilance awareness week 2021” at its premises on Tuesday.

In a press release, NU Lumami informed that chief guest of the programme, NU registrar Dr. Abemo in his speech stressed that the central vigilance commission was asking each and every one to collectively fight and prevent corruption.

He said that corruption had many forms and that not discharging one’s assigned duties was as good as corruption.

Lecture on “independent India @ 75: self-reliance with integrity” was delivered by HoD, department of economics, prof. T. Zarenthung Ezung.

Marking dandi march under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi as the starting point of India’s struggle for self-reliance, he dwelt on various policies of the country since independence in an attempt to achieve the same.

Asserting that the overall growth of the country could be seen in the increase of the GDP and per capita income, he said these were made possible due to able leadership, both past and present and the dedicated contributions made by all sections of society.

He also stated that India was striving to become a developed country and that it was the bounden duty of the people to work with dedication and integrity to achieve this goal.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by asstsistant prof., department of EVS, Dr. Latonglila Jamir.

A special number was presented by research scholar Thejano while the integrity pledge was led by controller of examinations, Dr. Maongsangba while vote of thanks was proposed by PRO, Peter Ki.

The programme was attended by faculty members, administrative staff and students.
