DIMAPUR , September 27: District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) Peren launched “smoke free district” campaign at additional deputy commissioner (ADC) office, Peren on September 16.
In a press release,chief medical officer (CMO) Peren office informed that ADC Peren, K. MhathungTsanglao while launching the campaign highlighted the issues of tobacco and stressed on the importance of working together with civil society organisations to sensitise the public.
Tsanglao also underscored the need for more poster campaign and other activities to create mass awareness on the hazards of smoking.
The keynote address was delivered by senior dental surgeon cum district nodal officer, Dr.Sabino Kuotsu while Peren Town Women Welfare Association leaders and the members present extended support to the campaign.
