State COVID tally to breach 2000-mark

DIMAPUR, AUG 2 (NPN): With COVID-19 cases on the rise in Nagaland, the tally is expected to breach the 2000-mark. On Sunday 104 COVID positive cases were detected from across the state, out of which 62 were reported from Dimapur, 18 in Zunheboto, 17 in Kohima, 5 in Wokha and 1 each in Mon & Phek, state Health minister S. Pangnyu Phom tweeted. (See table for details)

 

With this the total tally as on August 2 stood at 1935 cases– 1279 active, 648 recovered, 6 deaths and 2 migrated.



As per the severity of symptoms, 1277 active cases are asymptomatic, 1 mild and 1 admitted to ICU and on oxygen. Out of 6 deaths, 4 died due to COVID, 1 death (positive) but not due to COVID and 1 death under investigation (co-morbidities and positive case).

 

Till August 2, a total of 25,335 samples were sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 22,815 received. Out of 16,679 samples received at BSL-3 (NHAK), 1,364 had tested positive.

 

In addition, a total of 16,727 samples were sent for testing on Truenat out of which 503 tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.

 

According to reports, the RT-PCR result of the woman who died on July 29, from Aoyimti village, was stated to be positive. The RT-PCR report of an employee of a gas agency was stated to be negative.
