Tseminyu distt demand: RSZ launches ‘The Voices’

DIMAPUR, OCT 2 (NPN) : Reiterating its support for Rengma people’s aspiration for a separate Tseminyu district, Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) launched its flagship programme “The Voices” at Kasha-Touphema peace treaty camp, NH-61 on Friday.

In a press note, RSZ president Kenneth Kath claimed that the initiative was a democratic form of expressing the dreams and aspirations of Rengma community in support of their demand for Tseminyu district, which was being spearheaded by Rengma Hoho (RH).

The initiative was launched by Council of Rengma Baptist Churches Youth Department (CRBCYD) Zunpha secretary Jonathan Mesenin the presence of RSZ president Kenneth Kathand representatives of Rengma youth.

Speaking on the occasion, Mesen said Tseminyu district has been a long-cherished dream of every Rengma, young and old, adding that “if we find favour from God, we will definitely find favour from people.”

He exhorted upon the gathering to remain steadfast in their prayers in their quest for the district, which was long overdue.

Under The Voices initiative, banners and posters were put up at multiple locations across Tseminyu sub-division with various messages from a wide spectrum of people voicing their concerns and support for the creation of a separate district headquarters for the Rengma tribe.
