US Consul General tours Bloom Bazaar

Kohima, October 30 (MExN): The United States Consul General, Melinda Pavek, on an official visit to Nagaland, visited the Bloom Bazaar at the Heritage, Kohima on October 28.

During her tour, Pavek, known for her commitment to fostering international relations and embracing local culture, interacted with the flower growers, local artisans and entrepreneurs, who showcased a wide array of traditional and contemporary Naga crafts and products, an IDAN release informed.

 

She expressed admiration for the resilience and creativity of the people of Nagaland, it said, adding that the visit serves as a testament to the enduring friendship between the US and India, as well as the former commitment to engaging with the diverse cultures within the country.

The US Consul General’s visit to Nagaland and her stop at Bloom Bazaar not only serves as a bridge for cultural exchange but also emphasises the potential for economic collaboration and partnership between the US and Nagaland, the IDAN release added. 

As she continues her diplomatic mission in India, her visit to Nagaland represents a significant step in fostering stronger ties between the United States and the region, it noted. 

The Bloom Bazaar, an initiative of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), is designed to encourage and empower local businesses across Nagaland, by creating a platform for them to showcase their products and connect with a wider audience.

Officially inaugurated on September 30, the Bloom Bazaar will run for an extensive 30-week period.
