The Naga American Foundation (NAF) will be holding its 2018 conference in Santa Clara, California, USA, on July 13 and 14. The Naga community in the San Francisco Bay Area of California will be hosting the conference, informed a press communiqué issued by Honili Sema President, Naga American Foundation.

Pointing out that more than ever, Nagas in the United States are excelling in fields ranging from the arts and the sciences to business and government, and are flourishing not only as individuals, but also as a collective group of people, the 2018 NAF Conference will accordingly “celebrate our growing community, while also highlighting our culture, history, and the many members that contribute to our ever-evolving diaspora”, stated the NAF.

The 2018 NAF Conference theme is “Flourishing Together.” The conference speakers are Dr. Paul Pimomo (Ellensburg, Washington) and Dr. Sylvia Pongener (Bolingbrook, Illinois). Stephen Imsong (Boston, Massachusetts) will give a special presentation on a motorcycle trip he took across the United States last year—during which many Naga families around the country hosted him.

Started in the 1980s by a group of Nagas in America, the Naga American Foundation is a social and cultural organization whose objectives are the advancement of Naga people in the USA, the promotion of common interests, and the provision of charitable, educational, and cultural support.

The NAF in its press communiqué has encouraged all Nagas in the United States to connect with and support each other as “we strengthen the bonds that tie us together” and prayed for continued growth of the organization.
