Union minister Sonowal in Nagaland on 2-day visit

Union minister of Ayush & Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal arrived Nagaland on a two-day visit. The minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Integrated Ayush Hospital at Razha Chedema, Kohima and virtually lay the foundation stone of the Integrated Ayush Hospital at Tuli, Medziphema, and Kiphire on March 4.

State minister of transport and civil aviation, railways and land resources, P. Paiwang Konyak Thursday briefed Sonowal on the Tizu-Zungki inland waterway project, which has been declared as National Waterway-101.
Paiwang said that the DPR for the waterways project, prepared by M/s WAPCOS, was handed over to Sonowal during his meeting at Hotel Vivor, Kohima.

He exuded confidence that the ministry would sanction fund to take up the first phase of the project. Senior state officials, chief engineer of Inland Waterways Authority of India S.V.K Reddy was also present at the meeting.

Earlier, Sonowal was received by minister Kashiho Sangtam, advisor Tovihoto, DC Chümoukedima and other officials at Dimapur airport.
Sonowal also met chief minister Neiphiu Rio at his private residence in Sovima before leaving for Kohima.

The minister will return to Dimapur on Friday and leave for Dibrugarh on March 4.
