Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has directed the immediate removal of unauthorised “No Parking” and “Parking for Customers Only” signs placed by private individuals, businesses, and other entities on public roads without official approval.
According to a notification from the DMC, unauthorised signages has been spotted along key roads under its jurisdiction, including Nyamo Lotha Road; Ao Tajen Road; GS Road; Dhobinala to DC office junction (National Highway); MP Road and City Tower to Tragopan Area.
Further, the DMC also stated that street vendors and shopkeepers have encroached upon footpaths by displaying their products, causing obstruction to pedestrian movement and traffic flow, resulting in leading to inconvenience and safety hazards. Accordingly, it directed all individuals, businesses, establishment, street vendors and shopkeepers are directed to remove and clear those items immediately.
Failure to comply with this order shall result in imposition of fines and penalties as per the provisions of the Law, it added.
