DIMAPUR, MARCH 17 (MExN): The Lotha Middle Range Students’ Union (LMRSU) has called for an indefinite bandh across Lotha middle range jurisdiction under Wokha district from March 18 onwards in protest over the non-completion of the Sanis to Lakhuti road upgradation.

The road project, which falls under PMGSY-II (package no NG-07-03-A008) with a length of 18 KM and total cost at Rs 1542.88 was contracted to M/S North East Enterprises and to be completed on or before March 2022 as per the work agreement.

Following this, an ultimatum was again served to the contractor to indicate some sign of progress in the road construction by March 15, 2024, it stated.

Coming to the March 18 bandh, the LMRSU informed that all vehicular movement except police, para-military forces, medical services including ambulances, and private vehicles carrying patients and dead boy, fire & emergency services, power department, press and students appearing examination would be restricted.

All institutions, both government and private, commercial shops, government departmental offices except administration and police station will remain shut, it added.
