Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): Dimapur, along with its adjoining areas, experienced a severe power outage on Friday evening, as a result of issues at the 132/66/33kV 2x100MVA Nagarjan sub-station.
According to sources within the power department, the problem stemmed from a fault in the 132 kV transmission line, significantly impacting the electricity supply to Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Peren and Niuland district.
The line tripped twice, first at 6.30PM, which was succesuflly restored. But, it again tripped at 7.05PM. In response to the crisis, department staff and officials have been mobilised and rushed to the sub-station to address the issue, the sources added.
However, at the time of filing this report, power restoration efforts were still ongoing.
