‘A healthy child makes a healthy society,’ says DC Mkg

Mokokchung, May 31 (MExN): Department of Health & Family, Mokokchung launched the first 1000 days at Sangtemla Hall, Mokokchung with Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung as the chief guest on May 30.

 

 

 

During the launching programme, the DC Mokokchung said, ‘A healthy child makes a healthy society.’ He called upon the allied departments, civil societies and various stakeholders to co-ordinate in creating awareness of the importance of the first 1000 days and the different schemes upto the village level.

A press release from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung stated that Dr Longri, UNICEF presented on the first 1000 days. Dr Supongmeren Sr Specialist (OBG) IMDH addressed the importance of Antenatal care and Hospital Delivery. Aienla Longkumer, Department of social welfare highlighted the audience on PMMVY scheme and nutritional support during 1000 days. 

Dr Imlisenba Paediatrician IMDH, Dr Takosunep AO DPO RCH & UIP, Moatoshi NSRLM-RD, Dr Maongkala MO PHC Mongsenyimti made presentations on the importance of Breastfeeding: the complete nutrition and early development, the Importance of Vaccination in children, SBCC through SHG institutions and convergence at village Health Sanitation and nutrition Days.

The programme was chaired by Watisenla Jamir, DCM, invocation by Yanglo Pongen, Associate Pastor, MTBA and welcome address was by Dr Kibangkumba CMO, Mokokchung. The launching programme was attended by Government Official (Health, Social Welfare and RD-NSRLM), civil society organisations, faith based organisations, media personnel and development partners.
