BJP believes in uplifting livelihoods of the people, asserts MP Phangnon

Focusing on nine year anniversary of the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre, Nagaland Rajya Sabha MP and State President of Mahila Morcha, S Phangnon Konyak on Wednesday stated that their party believes in being a party with a difference and which thinks for the people.

It believes in uplifting the livelihoods of the people who are out of the ambit of regular livelihood such as daily-wage earners. ‘This is a government which has kept its promises and has fulfilled it,’ she said.

Speaking during a press conference organised by the BJP Nagaland State Mahila Morcha at the party’s district office, located opposite to Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on May 31, the Rajya Sabha MP mentioned that “Ever since this government (Modi) came into power in 2014, there has been an unprecedented change in the development of the country.”
In addition, she announced that the BJP government has focused on uplifting the downtrodden which has been manifested through various welfare schemes of the government.

For Nagaland state, health care schemes such as the Ayushman Bharat (AB), has benefitted over 32,000 individuals who have availed free treatment amounting to Rs 55 crore, she noted. Moreover 331 health and wellness centres have become operational here in the state under the AB scheme. Likewise the Ujjwala Yojana, the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana and the Jal Jeevan Mission have been targeted towards the poor as well.

“It is not only an election based party but throughout the year the party works for the people,” she said. She also said that ‘All these are benefits that people are reaping from the people centric government and we will be reaching out to the beneficiaries of the various schemes.’

At the same time, the road sector has brought tremendous development for the North-Eastern region including the Act East Policy, she mentioned. The COVID-19 vaccination programme of the BJP government was also a successful endeavour during those challenging times giving wide coverage to the people across the country.

The government is centred on developing the nation keeping in mind, ‘the nation first,’ policy. It has a success story of announcing that, “India has changed and transformed,” she said.
