More orgs condemn vandalization of NSF office

Kohima, May 30 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed anguish over vandalizing of the NSF office (Naga Club Building) in the wee hours on May 27 by unknown miscreants. The NPF in its press release said it strongly condemned such act of uncivilized and alien culture practiced by the Naga society. ‘Whoever, the culprit maybe, but destroying one of our most preserved heritage building is nothing but purely a barbaric plan. Therefore, the NPF urged upon the law enforcing agency of the Government to come into conclusion immediately by booking the culprits as per the law of the land,’ it stated.

Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) said NSF is the honoured and respected apex organisation of all Naga students’ organisations. Therefore, intentionally damaging the respectable image of NSF who upholds the sanctity and integrity of Nagas globally is highly condemnable in this modern civilised society. The house where the office of NSF has been functioning is hand-made Naga Heritage structure worth-preserving for the years to come whether or not NSF is occupying for next Naga generations to see, NCD stated. It also appealed to law enforcing agencies to book the miscreants and take necessary action according to the law of the land.

The Maring Students’ Union (MSU) in its condemnation rejected all forms of violence and sabotage towards student bodies. “Such unwarranted and unlawful activities have no place in our peace-loving society. The Union appeals the law enforcement agency to conduct a thorough investigation and prosecute those responsible for the vandalism,” it stated while extending full solidarity with the NSF in these trying times.

Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (PNTM) said that this heinous act goes against the very principle of humanity and the aspirations of the Naga people in particular. “We express our strong disapproval to such barbaric actions and call upon the law-enforcing agencies to promptly initiate appropriate legal proceedings against those perpetrators and their act of goondaism,” PNTM stated. It also extended support and solidarity to NSF and cooperation in the pursuit of justice.

The Sirti Thiimjiitam Sourkhe (Monsang Naga Students’ Union) stated that this untoward act of destruction by anti-Naga miscreants is a threat to the entire Naga Nation. The union has called upon the concerned authorities of law and order to take necessary action for this hideous crime at the earliest. Such irrational act is an open agenda to destroy the unified Naga spirit. It also assured unwavering support to NSF and come forward against such anti-Naga activities that are a peril threat to our unity and integrity. 

The Thiimziih Teen Bujuur Ruwrkheh (TTBR) Moyon Naga Students’ Union said that the unwarranted act of vandalism undermines the invaluable efforts and contributions of the NSF. “Such acts of violence and destruction have no place in society that value dialogue, understanding and mutual respect. TTBR strongly urges a thorough investigation into this incident, ensuring those responsible are held accountable for their actions,” it stated. 

‘TTBR prays that the collective voice against this act of vandalism will be heard and justice will be served. We stand in solidarity with the NSF during this challenging time and give our unwavering support in the course of action that they will take up,’ it added.
