Tongpang Ozukum visits KVS school Tuli

DIMAPUR, September 30 : Minister for PWD (housing & mechanical), and Mokokchung DPDB chairman, Tongpang Ozukum visited Kendra Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) school, Tuli on September 29.

Addressing the plight of KVS school, president A. Kika Lenda and general secretary Chubangangshi of Workers Union Pulp & Paper Company Limited (WUNPPCL) said that the maintenance of the school building and staff quarters were under the in charge of Nagaland Pulp & Paper Company Limited (NPPCL) from 1995.

They stated that NPPCL made all efforts to support the repair and maintenance of the school building however, the sponsoring authority NPPCL was currently not in a position to maintain the school building and staff quarter.

In this regard, they requested the state government to step in for further progress.

Tongpang assured that he would commit to oversee that progress of the school was not hindered.

He also requested stakeholders and school authorities to continue their mission to educate students of the area.

Later, the minister along with advisor for industries & commerce, labour & employment and skill development & entrepreneurship, Imnatiba interacted with Adhoc town committee members and administration of Changtongya town.

The minister also visited and interacted with Mokokchung district administration, urban development department officials and contractor of ongoing P. Shilu memorial park in Mokokchung town.

Earlier, Tongpang also interacted with various Mokokchung stakeholders and faculty of Institute of Communication and Information Technology (ICIT) on September 28.

During his interaction at ICIT, principal of the institute, David Tsela appraised issues faced by the institute, especially the need for introduction of new diploma programme in “electrical and electronics engineering” and “civil engineering”.

The minister said that with service sector opening up, it was time for young Naga professionals not to wait for the state government for employment but start their technical expertise with start-ups especially in the electrical and civil engineering projects.

He also assured as chairman of Mokokchung DPDB to take necessary steps in addressing their representation with the responsible department and state government.

Tongpang interacted with executive engineers from all divisions of road & bridges in Mokokchung district, national highway and Mokokchung Milk Union.

Later, he visited the site for proposed recreational park in Mokokchung town.
