Dimapur, April 28 (MExN): The Dimapur District Administration and Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) along with the assistance of Railway Authority are working round the clock to clear the clogged drain caused during the recent rain.
Some of the areas affected by the inundation caused due to blockage of a major drain near Dimapur Railway Station include Xuvihe, Chatteswari, Lower Manipuri, Upper Manipuri, West Yard and Railway Bazaar colonies in Dimapur.
A press release from the Media Cell for Advisor, Power Department, H Tovihoto Ayemi informed that as assured by the advisor, other relief related initiatives such as free medical camps and fogging are being carried out to prevent possible outbreak of water borne epidemic. Hundreds of residents have availed free medical checkup.
Urging the residents to co-operate with the administration and the DMC to allow speedy execution of the work to clear the drain, Tovihoto said “the concerned authorities have taken all necessary steps installing machineries to clear the entire stretch of the drain at the earliest possible time and will further work out a solution to prevent such occurrence in the days to come.”
