In a major relief for the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party in Nagaland (NDPP), the Election Commission of India has dismissed the complaint demanding de-recognition of the NDPP filed earlier by one Smt Zeneisiile Ate Loucii.

The complainant had alleged that the NDPP got its registration as a political party by fraud and that it had filed false affidavits while registering before the Election Commission of India. The complaint was registered with the ECI on May 7, 2018.

After a series of hearings, the ECI on February 7, 2019 ruled in favour of NDPP and dismissed the complaint in a 16 page order signed by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora and Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa.
